Less than 100 metres from the current location, a building is being constructed that will bring together production facilities and office space under one roof.
‘The new TROX HESCO building stands for a modern working environment and sustainable development. We want to promote our unique production site in Rüti and continue to stand out with Swiss quality in the future,’ says Dennis Hansen.
A glimpse into the new warehouse is delightful
1,932 storage spaces covering 780 m² are waiting to be filled with innovative products. The state-of-the-art high-bay storage system is operated by an efficient narrow-aisle forklift. Thanks to fully digitalised warehouse management, you never lose track of anything.
Innovative logistics solutions
Lift systems are installed directly in the production hall, transporting the required materials directly to the production site at the touch of a button. This ensures that everything is in the right place at the right time.
Modern office space
The office area is located on the 3rd floor. Particularly striking are the wooden TROX BOXes, which divide the 750 m² open-plan office into smaller, more clearly arranged areas and create a pleasant working atmosphere.
The festive ceremony marks the successful completion of the shell construction phase and the start of the next stage of development for this groundbreaking project. The client, TROX HESCO Schweiz AG, and the contractor, Strüby Unternehmungen from Seewen SZ, are not only pleased with the progress of construction, but also emphasise the successful and cooperative collaboration of all subcontractors involved.
The weather has been favourable so far, safety is our top priority, and our technology is becoming the star of the building! Join us in looking forward to the new TROX hotspot from summer 2024!
TROX HESCO Managing Director Dennis Hansen opens the ground-breaking ceremony with a few words about the project. He thanks everyone involved. After planning was put on hold in 2019 due to an internal change, today's ground-breaking ceremony marks an even greater milestone. ‘The building will not only be a workplace for our 120 employees, but also a showpiece for the TROX Group and TROX HESCO,’ said Hansen.
Anton Strüby, Managing Director of Strüby Unternehmungen, also sees the new building as a prestigious property and a showcase model. As a full-service provider, he expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and said he was looking forward to an exciting project.
Udo Jung, CEO of Trox SE, addresses the special production location: ‘At the bank, people look at you with wide eyes when you say you want to build a production hall in Switzerland.’ But the investment in Switzerland is no coincidence. In recent years, the TROX Group has invested in new buildings across Europe, including Norway, Germany and the Czech Republic. The fact that Swiss Made will be even more important in the future also shows the value of good quality in our industry.
Representing the municipality of Rüti, we welcomed President Yvonne Bürgin and Municipal Clerk Thomas Ziltener. ‘Having an internationally successful company in Rüti is an asset to the municipality,’ said Bürgin. The new TROX HESCO building, with its sustainable and environmentally friendly construction, fits in perfectly with the energy and climate policy of the energy city of Rüti.
From a simple locksmith's workshop to an internationally networked company – we remain loyal to our location.
The long and exciting history of TROX HESCO Schweiz AG begins on 19 October 1863. Trained locksmith Rudolf Hess signs the contract and thus obtains the water rights and three plots of land on Pilgersteg. The manufacture of building fittings begins in the newly built locksmith's workshop.
Hess installs machines for punching, pressing and grinding iron in the vacant factory building of the former spinning and weaving mill. The Pilgersteg location benefits from its proximity to the Jona, the local stream. Hydropower is harnessed with a new turbine system.
During a cold winter, a fire breaks out in the main building, but thanks to a pump system in the old turbine house, it is extinguished before the entire building burns down.
The construction of a new office building allows the machine park to be expanded.
To meet growing energy demand, the company decided to build its own power station. It was an ambitious project: in addition to the machine house, a dam also had to be planned. This presented the company with financial challenges. Just one year later, the new landmark went into operation with an output of approximately 330 kW.
The start of ventilation accessory manufacturing cannot be dated precisely, but it took place before the company was converted into a limited partnership in January 1951. Accordingly, the machinery was modernised in the following years.
Over 30 different air outlets in almost 400 sizes contributed significantly to a sharp rise in export sales.
HESCO Pilgersteg AG Rüti is taken over by Gebrüder Trox SE and renamed TROX HESCO Schweiz AG.
We continue to see potential in the Rüti production site and are investing in a new office and production building.
