CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN ANHOLT

With the expansion of its plant in Anholt, TROX is investing in the future of its largest production site. The focus is on expanding capacity, optimising internal processes and developing the entire plant site in an environmentally friendly manner.

A total of 20,000 m² of new hall space is planned, including 10,000 m² of production-related storage space in the first phase of expansion (completion: end of 2027). The expansion will be complemented by modern functional areas such as changing rooms, recreation rooms and a completely redesigned training workshop to promote the development of young skilled workers.

A particular focus is on the interaction between industry and the environment: a dedicated photovoltaic field for sustainable energy supply is being built on the site of a former nursery.

A retention basin with an investment volume of around 2.5 million euros protects the Issel river and the mud minnows that live there by delaying the drainage of large amounts of precipitation.

A strip of forest has also been created as a compensation area for regional bird protection.

The car park areas have also been expanded and greened – to the benefit of employees and local residents.

Strengthening the location, protecting nature, creating prospects – with a vision for regional development and ecological responsibility.

OUR GOAL - WHY EXPAND?

MORE SPACE FOR PRODUCTION AND LOGISTICS

20,000 m² of new halls – initially, 10,000 m² will be built for storage and production.

MODERN INFRASTRUCTURE FOR EMPLOYEES

New buildings with integrated changing rooms, recreation areas and supply areas.

STRENGTHENING LOCAL EDUCATION

The TROX training workshop is moving to new premises and will be further developed as an integral part of the campus.

LANDSCAPE-ADAPTED AND CLIMATE-CONSCIOUS PLANNING

Flood protection on the Issel is being integrated in a natural way – ecologically well thought-out and technically coordinated.

SCHEDULE

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

The plant expansion at the Anholt site comprises a total of 20,000 m² of additional hall space and will strengthen the TROX Group's production, logistics and administrative structures in the long term.
The first construction phase will initially see the creation of 10,000 m² of production-related storage space, which will be completed by the end of 2027. Further construction phases will follow successively until overall completion in 2030.

The expansion includes, among other things:

  • Modern logistics and administrative areas

  • New premises for the TROX training workshop

  • Integrated functional zones such as changing rooms, recreation rooms and catering facilities

The construction project actively takes into account the special location in the Issel floodplain:
The flood overflow will be adapted and designed to be close to nature, so that technology, infrastructure and the environment blend harmoniously.

The result is an efficient, future-oriented location that creates space for further growth – while focusing on ecological responsibility and optimal working conditions.

UTILISATION CONCEPT

Architecture & expansion – efficient and future-oriented

The plant expansion in Anholt comprises 20,000 m² of new hall space for production, storage, administration and training. In a first step, 10,000 m² of production-related storage space will be created by the end of 2027. The remaining construction phases will follow successively, with completion planned for the end of 2030.

Training & working environment – integrated and future-proof

An integral part of the expansion is the TROX training workshop, which will be housed in modern premises in the new building complex. In addition, important functional areas such as changing rooms, recreation areas and catering zones will be integrated directly into the hall structure – ensuring short distances and contemporary working conditions.

Site design – functionally embedded & regionally coordinated

The expansion strengthens the TROX Group's largest site – both structurally and economically. The new site will be functionally embedded in the existing campus and consistently designed for efficiency and employee orientation.

Climate-sensitive planning – designed to be close to nature and in harmony with the region

Due to its location in the Issel floodplain, the site is being developed with particular care: the flood overflow will be adapted and landscaped to meet both ecological and technical requirements. The project is being carried out in close consultation with the relevant authorities – a clear commitment to responsibility and sustainability.

FAQS - ANSWERS TO THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS

Why is the extension necessary?

Why is the extension necessary?

The Anholt site is the largest in the TROX Group – existing capacities are no longer sufficient to meet growing demand.

Why is the process taking so long?

Why is the process taking so long?

The construction project was coordinated and integrated with the landscape in the Issel floodplain. The original plans date back more than 10 years and are now coming to fruition. Extensive measures to preserve the fauna and resettle animals had to be carried out before further steps could be taken. We were and are in close contact with the relevant authorities in this regard. The soil conditions must also be optimised in terms of load-bearing capacity before construction can begin.

When will the construction start?

When will the construction start?

Construction is scheduled to begin in August 2026. The first areas (warehouse) are expected to be completed by the end of 2027, with the entire project scheduled for completion by the end of 2030.

What benefits does the project bring to the region?

What benefits does the project bring to the region?

The expansion secures jobs, strengthens educational training in the region, brings investment to Anholt and increases the long-term economic attractiveness of the location.

How was the urban community involved?

How was the urban community involved?

The plant expansion was closely coordinated with local and regional authorities. The landscaping of the flood area was deliberately designed to blend in with the surrounding environment.
