More comfort, more freedom of design, lower cost: TROX introduces the SCHOOLAIR-V-HV decentralised ventilation unit

Façades are ideal installation locations for decentralised ventilation systems. Individual solutions at very reasonable cost, and easy installation, partly due to the fact that basically no ductwork is required, result in a high ROI and are decisive advantages for both new builds and refurbishments.

TROX has now introduced an addition to the SCHOOLAIR range of decentralised ventilation units: SCHOOLAIR-V-HV. The new 'kid on the block' features moisture recovery and considerably higher volume flow rates. A rotary heat exchanger provides heat recovery all year round such that less external heating energy is required. With volume flow rates of up to 600 m³/h, SCHOOLAIR-V-HV is the most powerful unit of the SCHOOLAIR range and is hence also suitable for large rooms.

More comfort for students and teachers

A volume flow rate of 600 m³/h is sufficient to supply a standard classroom with the required fresh air in order to achieve and ensure an average CO2 concentration of less than 1000 ppm. A cooling function is available as an option and helps ensure a pleasant indoor air temperature even in summer. The cooling function requires a chilled water system. Alternatively, the cool fresh air can be directly supplied to rooms.

The rotary heat exchanger used for moisture recovery provides a healthy indoor climate in winter and increased comfort levels.

It is possible to make the volume flow rate dependent on the VOC concentration of the room air (i.e. extract air) in order to achieve a continuously high indoor air quality. It is also possible, however, to define fixed volume flow rates for the various operating modes (room occupied, room unoccupied, standby), which is a simple and efficient solution. SCHOOLAIR-V-HV works quietly due to a special feature: acoustically optimised EC fans combined with upstream and downstream attenuators. Maintenance is easy since a filter change does not require any tools.

No condensate pipe is required, and rooms will not become too dry even in case of high air change rates. These features make the SCHOOLAIR-V-HV a perfect and energy efficient solution for new as well as for refurbished buildings.

More freedom of design

Unobtrusive fresh air and exhaust air openings put no restrictions on the façade or room architecture. A variety of outer casings allow for attractive solutions.

Lower cost

An integral heat recovery function means that the thermal energy of the room air is recovered rather than wasted. The rotary heat exchanger heats the fresh air in winter and cools it in summer (cooling function is optional). Rotary heat exchangers for heat recovery can be used all year round without any special frost protection, and the heat generator output can be reduced as a consequence. Energy-saving EC fans, short air transport distances, and demand-based control make the decentralised ventilation units a very efficient solution.
