New MVV TB 2023/1: What does fire damper testing mean?

The new guidelines of MVV TB 2023/1 dated 17 April 2023 have raised many questions, especially with regard to the testing of fire dampers. Annex 14 indicates that fire dampers must be tested after installation by closing them properly. But what about functional testing during operation?

It is important to note that the ongoing operation of the building does not fall within the scope of the MVV TB and thus the necessary functional testing is still regulated via, for example, the maintenance measures in DIN31051.
